The “Recovery Innovation Challenge” seeks to identify innovations that advance recovery, particularly amid the ongoing overdose epidemic and current pandemic.
In particular, SAMHSA aims to learn the following:
- What challenges have you experienced in advancing recovery?
- How are you advancing recovery, as defined by SAMHSA? What innovations have you developed to advance recovery?
- How do you know your efforts are working? How do you measure your success? By issuing this challenge, SAMHSA invites participants to share practices or models highlighting innovations that promote recovery.
In addition, SAMHSA seeks to understand how organizations know the effectiveness of their innovations. Understanding how the field has evolved over the past decade to advance recovery throughout the continuum of care will improve SAMHSA’s programs and policies moving forward.
Funding Information
This challenge competition will offer up to ten awards. The challenge purse is up to $400,000.
Eligibility Criteria
Peer-run or community-based organizations must be the primary participant. Any peer-run or community-based organization can participate including peer-run and community-based tribal organizations. Additionally, tribes, treatment centers, prevention and early intervention organizations, local and state health departments, health systems, hospitals, health plans, and academic medical centers can be part of teams with peer-run or community-based organizations that participate as a group.
