In general, submissions should reflect an intent to improve the quality of life in the City of Manhattan, Kansas, benefit the KONZA Prairie, or provide recreational development in the town of Keats.

Funding Information
- Apply now for a Small grant – $25,000 or less, or
- Apply now for a Large grant – $25,001 or more.
Criteria
The Foundation will also consider funding projects from any other Manhattan nonprofit organization involving the arts (including theater), energy assistance for low-income individuals and/or family facilities, historical preservation, libraries, parks and recreation, services for the elderly and handicapped, and subsidized child care which enables a parent or parents to be employed or be educated. In addition, grants will be considered for recreational development in the town of Keats. Caroline Peine designated a five-person committee to make grant decisions and is charged to be sensitive to the social, cultural, recreational, and historic needs of the community.
The Foundation does not consider requests for the following:
- Operating costs to maintain the City of Manhattan, Kansas or any of its facilities
- Industrial development
- Organized athletics
- Church or religious purposes.
