This NOFA invites qualified applicants to submit proposals for projects that provide housing assistance and related supportive services to low-income individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS.
HCDS is announcing the availability of HOPWA funds as part of its approximate $6.4 million annual allocation from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to the County of San Diego (County). These funds are to provide direct housing and related services to eligible participants. Eligible activities for HOPWA funded through this NOFA include:
- Housing Information Services
- Short-Term Rent, Mortgage, and Utility Payments (STRMU)
- Supportive Services
- Housing Operations for Permanent, Transitional, and/or Short-Term Housing
- Permanent Housing Placement.
Grant Period
The initial contract period will be from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, for a period of one (1) year.
Eligible Criteria
Eligible applicants for this NOFA include a local or state government, nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) status, or public housing agency/ housing authority. Applicants must demonstrate capacity to manage federal funds and deliver housing and supportive services in alignment with program requirements.
