Funding Information
Funding for this program was appropriated in two appropriations over the biennium. $750,000 is available for Fiscal Year 2026 and $750,000 is available for Fiscal Year 2027. MHC will administer these funds in one grant round, as outlined in the RFP, for the following grant periods:
- Grant Period 1: November 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026
- Grant Period 2: July 1, 2026 to May 31, 2027
- Grant Periods 1 and 2: November 1, 2025 to May 31, 2027.
Eligibility Criteria
An applicant is eligible to apply for funding:
- If the applicant is in good standing with the IRS,
- If the applicant is in good standing with MHC, and
- If the applicant is working to:
- Preserve and honor the cultural heritage of Minnesota,
- Provide education and student outreach in cultural diversity,
- Support the development of culturally diverse humanities programming, including arts programming, by individuals and organizations, or
- Empower communities in building identity and culture, including preserving and honoring communities whose Indigenous cultures are endangered or disappearing.
