The goals of this grant program are to increase citizen knowledge and engagement. The goal of the MD Two Fifty Commission is to increase the number of applicants for public boards and commissions, prepare potential candidates for public office, increase participation (voting) in local elections, and increase attendance at public meetings in communities throughout Maryland.

- To be eligible for an MD Two Fifty Commission Citizen Academy grant, applicants must be a county, municipality, public library systems, public K-12 school systems, community colleges, or four-year higher education institutions within the state of Maryland.
