Through this initiative, SFS seeks to support and spotlight qualifying Utah-based nonprofit organizations engaged in innovative and impactful community development activities.
Twenty-five (25) nonprofit organizations will be selected. Each will receive a grant of at least $2,500, with three (3) of the twenty-five awarded a grant of $5,000 in the following categories:
- Best in Show – Recognizes the highest-scoring organization across all categories.
- Diamond in the Rough – Recognizes a smaller or emerging organization with outstanding potential and exceptional community development work in Utah.
- Small Business Excellence – Recognizes an organization demonstrating impressive and innovative support for Utah-based small businesses.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the 25 Squared Grant Program, applying organizations must:
- Be a public nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
- Maintain a physical office in the state of Utah.
- Not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, veteran, or disability status.
- Participate in at least one of the following community development activities aligned with SFS’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) pillars:
- Small business development
- Affordable housing
- Reentry support and entrepreneurship
- Financial capability and wellness.
Selection Criteria
- Quality and strength of the applying organization to achieve goals
- Innovativeness and effectiveness of the application, project and/or organization
- Potential impact on the Utah community
- Alignment with Square Financial Services’ core values and organizational pillars.
