Size of the Grant: $10,000 to $100,000

Details:

The Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln invites proposals for a special Strategic Response Grant Program, designed to support afterschool programs serving children and youth within the eight-county service region: Cass, Christian, Logan, Macoupin, Menard, Montgomery, Morgan, and/or Sangamon counties.

Foundation recognize that recent reductions in public funding have strained many community-based programs, limiting access to safe, engaging, and enriching spaces for children outside of school hours.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, OR faith-based organization (proposals must benefit all, regardless of religion, and be for a service provided which is not religious in nature), OR public or private school (proposals must be for projects that exceed the school’s budget funding), OR some government entities or municipalities may be eligible.
  • Serve children or youth in the Foundation’s eight-county service region: Cass, Christian, Logan, Macoupin, Menard, Montgomery, Morgan, and/or Sangamon counties.
  • Operate a program that meets the definition of an afterschool program.
  • Submit a complete application with all required attachments.

Requirements

Definining “Afterschool Programs”:  For the purpose of this grant opportunity, “afterschool programs” are defined as structured, safe, and supervised programs offered to school-aged children and youth outside of regular school hours (before school, after school, weekends, and/or during school breaks). These programs typically provide academic support, enrichment opportunities (arts, sports, STEM, recreation), mentoring, and/or social-emotional development. Afterschool programs are distinct from unstructured childcare and aim to help children learn, grow, and thrive in supportive environments.
