The African American Equity Restoration Task Force (AAERTF) studies, reviews, and identifies strategic solutions to improve areas of disparity and disenfranchisement in the East Knoxville community by working with existing community agencies to develop policy and program recommendations that will create opportunities for generational wealth building.
Funding Information
Grant funding will be awarded in March 2026 for programming carried out between March 2026 and November 2026. Awards will be in the amounts of either $10,000 or $20,000.
Uses of Funds
Funds must be used to specifically provide programming, stipends, vouchers, payment, or other services directly related to AAERTF identified areas of focus–Education, Community Involvement/Engagement, Homeownership, Small Business Development & Entrepreneurship, and Workforce Equity) — in East Knoxville
Eligibility Criteria
To receive funding, an applicant must be a non-profit organization with tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status, registered with the State of Tennessee as a charitable organization, or have secured a Fiscal Sponsor. An applicant cannot discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, or disability when carrying out any aspect of the funded project.
