The CHIP program is funded with federal HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds and is subject to federal HOME regulations and any amendments.
The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) partners with communities to build strong and vibrant neighborhoods, commercial and industrial areas through community and economic development, local government assistance, and safe and affordable housing. Using state and federal resources, DCA helps communities spur private job creation, implement planning, develop downtowns, generate affordable housing solutions, and promote volunteerism. DCA also helps qualified Georgians with low and moderate incomes buy homes, rental housing and prevent foreclosure and homelessness.
Funding Information
- Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) available for housing rehabilitation of owner occupied single-family homes; and
- One million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) available for new construction and reconstruction of affordable single-family homes for sale to income-eligible homebuyers.
Eligibility Criteria
- City and County Governments in Georgia, excluding HUD HOME Participating Jurisdictions, that receive HUD HOME funds directly.
- Public Government Authorities
- Nonprofits with 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) tax-exempt status
