The Champions of the Community program is designed and intended to support and nurture community development projects that will enrich the lives of residents and enhance the overall well-being of the region.
This unique program provides grant-funding directly to selected Charlottesville-area nonprofit organizations. The initiative connects UVA student athletes with local nonprofits to support and deepen the work of those organizations across the Charlottesville community. This program develops the student athlete through financial decision-making larger than themselves, and directly funds crucial projects across local community.
The grants are designed to be versatile, covering a wide range of programs and activities. This includes everything from literacy and food-based programs, to environmental stewardship and athletic programs, ensuring a diverse impact.
Eligibility Criteria
The grants are open to all local non-profits that complete project work in the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County, VA.
