The Program provides an opportunity for qualified non-profit Lewes organizations with proposed projects or events that primarily benefit the City’s residents or showcase the City to receive onetime, non-renewable, small amounts of funding of less than $5,000. The program/event must align with the City’s Core Values and Comprehensive Plan. Should an applicant receive grant funding under the Program, the organization is responsible for obtaining all the necessary permissions, permits and insurance to put on the event or program. The goal of the Program is to actively engage or assist City residents through the event/program, and that includes educational engagement.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in the city of Lewes and meeting the legal requirements of the state of Delaware and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
- The primary or targeted beneficiaries of the event/program must be residents of the City of Lewes or greater Lewes area.
- The applicant must have fulfilled all service, reporting, auditing, and payment obligations for any previous loans or grants from the City.
- Only one application per organization per year will be considered.
- The applicant must submit all required supporting documents prior to the deadline(s) for consideration.
