The BCFB Foundation has developed two new grants for teachers of Pre-K through 8th grade to improve the understanding and comprehension of agriculture through agricultural literacy programming. The first grant option awards up to $1000 in the areas of capital improvement. Up to 30% of this grant may be used for consumable supplies. The goal of the capital improvement grant is to purchase classroom items which will be used for multiple years.
Suggestions for these grants include, but are not limited to, classroom incubator/egg programs, agriculture-themed books, field trips, pollinator plots, gardens, guest speaker programs, butterfly labs, and/or classroom pets; provided the program helps enhance the understanding of agriculture.
Types of Grants
- Capital Improvement Grant of up to $1,000 per cycle. Up to 30% of the requested funds may be used for consumable supplies. The purpose of this grant is to purchase classroom items which will be used for multiple years.
- Supply Grant of up to $500 per cycle. Up to 100% of these funds may be used for consumable supplies.
