This community-led activation program provides an exciting opportunity to amplify small business support throughout the month, and bring vitality to neighborhoods. Proposals that will be considered include, but are not limited to: business district events, small business workshops, training sessions, panels/forums, networking, pop-ups, and markets.
Objectives
- Empower small business owners with new skills and knowledge to enhance their businesses.
- Foster community engagement and networking opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
- Promote the growth and sustainability of small businesses in the Boston area.
- Encourage collaboration between small businesses, local organizations, and community stakeholders.
- Create opportunities for small business owners and entrepreneurs to gain exposure.
Funding Information
- Total Amount Available for Grant Program: $130,000
- Individual awards of up to $9,500, are available to provide full or partial funding for selected proposals.
Project Period
Grant-funded activations must be completed between May 1, 2026–May 31, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant organization must be a nonprofit, and have a strong community presence in Boston with a demonstrated history of providing support or services to small businesses.
- The activation must be free and open to the public, and held in the City of Boston.
