CRP Homeownership Capital Accelerator Program (Washington)

Washington State Department of Commerce Community Reinvestment Program (CRP) is now accepting applications from organizations, lenders and tribes to assist people disproportionally experiencing wealth disparities with buying homes and building generational wealth.

Details:

Funds will support by-and-for housing organizations and community-based developers to expand affordable homeownership opportunities through some or all of these activities:

  • Land acquisition loan program for developers in under-represented areas and communities disproportionately impacted by wealth disparities to build starter homes for low-income homebuyers, including:
    • Capacity building for emerging community-based housing organizations
    • Culturally responsive financial coaching for long-term stability and success
  • Flexible mortgage products that help buyers become mortgage-ready faster, such as:
    • Down Payment Assistance for the purchase of an owner-occupied primary residence for first time homebuyers
    • Debt consolidation in conjunction with the purchase of an owner-occupied primary residence for first time homebuyers
  • Fore closure remediation for current homeowners of an owner-occupied primary residence
  • Major systems upgrades for current homeowners of an owner-occupied primary residence that address health and safety needs
  • Loan programs for creation of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) or Detached Accessory Dwelling Unit (DADU).

COMMERCE has budgeted an amount not to exceed $15,338,050 for this project.

May 1, 2026 June 30, 2027.

Eligibility Criteria

Commerce encourages applicants from who meet the minimum qualifications of this NOFO to apply. This includes:

  • Federally recognized tribes with projects located within Washington
  • Non-federally recognized tribal organizations’ nonprofit corporations (registered as a 501c3) with projects located in Washington
  • By-and-for organizations
    • This includes but is not limited to, organization operated by-and-for the Black, Latino, Native American, Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities
  • Organizations who can demonstrate a collaborative on-going partnership with a by-and-for organization
  • Applicants who are licensed or certified lenders
  • Applicants who are working to become licensed or certified lenders
  • Applicants who have two years of lending experience
