Donor Name: Amelia Peabody Foundation

State: Massachusetts

County: All Counties

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: 05/12/2026

Size of the Grant: $10,000 to $100,000

Grant Duration: Grant Duration Not Mentioned

Details:

The Foundation has a special concern for funding programs operating across the Commonwealth, primarily outside Greater Boston, through operating, program, and capital grants. Sponsorships for events will not be considered.  The Foundation seeks to build relationships with nonprofit organizations and other community leaders and provide flexible funding with a bias toward capacity building.

Until further notice, the Foundation is targeting three specific priority areas for capital funds: 1) increasing access to childcare for low-income families; 2) increasing access to healthcare through community health centers or other community-based interventions; and 3) creating shelter/affordable housing.

From its founding, the broad mission of the Amelia Peabody Foundation was to support charitable organizations in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Foundation provides support across the state to amplify and extend the positive social impact of Amelia Peabody’s philanthropic legacy in perpetuity. Specifically, the Amelia Peabody Foundation supports programs and services for youth and families, particularly those from under-resourced communities.

Funding Information

Most grants fall in the $15,000 to $50,000 range for programs or operations. Grants in the $50,000 to $100,000 plus range are typically capital improvement grants or other grants which take an organization to a new level of operations in respect to the quality or quantity of services provided.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Any organization applying to the Foundation must be a Massachusetts-based tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Please note, the address printed on the IRS 501(c)(3) determination for the applicant must be in Massachusetts. Applications will be considered under fiscal sponsorship arrangements as long as the fiscal sponsor is a 501(c)(3) with a Massachusetts address.
  • If a Fiscal Sponsor is being used, you must submit a signed Fiscal Sponsor Statement by them and a copy of their 501(c)(3). The Fiscal Sponsor Statement includes additional information about the requirements of being a Fiscal Sponsor.
