The Environmental Action Grant (EAG) program helps advance this mission by providing funding support for local environmental restoration and education projects and programs.
Priority is given to projects and programs that protect the environment and restore wildlife habitats in the communities we serve. Please note that funding cannot be used for General operating expenses, capital projects or related purchases.

- Reviewers: A committee of Columbia Gas of Ohio stakeholders will review and score all submissions.
- Mission Alignment: Project or program must support the NiSource Charitable Foundation’s
- Environmental Stewardship Pillar of Giving, create potential employee volunteer opportunities and strengthen community action and education programs.
- Resources: Requesting organization should demonstrate financial capacity and leadership commitment.
- Visibility: Request should have relevance and potential for positive media, and ability to engage multiple groups.
Impact: Strong record of accomplishment, measurable outcomes, and meaningful long-term benefits will also be considered during the review process. - Skills: Show a clear focus and ability to support programs to strengthen responsible use, protection, and restoration of natural resources.
