The longstanding Mayor’s Arts Grant program recognizes community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits that enrich Anchorage through diverse arts and cultural events, including visual art, theater, dance, music, poetry and heritage.
This year, Mayor LaFrance is prioritizing projects that improve or expand the public’s access to the arts, such as those that offer free or low-cost events. To qualify, proposals should have a clear public engagement component. This can include performances that engage audiences and programs or art installations that are open and accessible to all.
Funding Information
Maximum Award Amount: Applicants may request up to $50,000. Requests exceeding $50,000 will not be considered.
Eligibility Criteria
- The organization must be a nonprofit entity with any form of a 501(c) federal tax exempt status and a physical office in the Municipality of Anchorage.
- The organization must have articles of incorporation and by-laws filed with the State of Alaska and be a recognized local chapter of a national organization.
