The Mayor’s Community Grants provide financial support to local charities and nonprofits dedicated to the betterment of Anchorage and addressing local needs.
Mayor LaFrance will award grants to a range of projects that align with these policy priorities: public safety, housing, and community-building. Additionally, including a youth engagement component in projects within these policy priorities is encouraged.
Example of projects aligning with policy priorities include:
- Supporting public safety through activating a public space or addressing behavioral health needs.
- A project that supports or creates transitional housing.
- Building community through an event or activity that bring neighbors together and cultivates connections.
Funding Information
Maximum Award Amount: Applicants may request up to $50,000. Requests exceeding $50,000 will not be considered.
Eligibility Criteria
- The organization must be a nonprofit entity with any form of a 501(c) federal tax exempt status and a physical office in the Municipality of Anchorage.
- The organization must have articles of incorporation and by-laws filed with the State of Alaska and be a recognized local chapter of a national organization.
