This NOFO will provide funding to deliver treatment and recovery support services for parents with substance use disorders (SUD), who have minor children or are pregnant, and are under correctional control in facility or community-based setting. State, local, and tribal governments and nonprofit organizations may apply for funding to provide family-based SUD treatment programs in jail, in prison, or as part of an alternative to incarceration to reduce recidivism and improve reentry and other related outcomes for the parent and their children.

OJP is committed to advancing work that furthers DOJ’s mission to uphold the rule of law, to keep the country safe, and to protect civil rights. OJP provides federal leadership, funding, and other critical resources to directly support law enforcement, combat violent crime, protect American children, provide services to American crime victims, and address public safety challenges, including human trafficking and the opioid crisis.

Funding Priorities

In order to advance public safety and help meet its mission, OJP will provide priority consideration to applicants that propose (as applicable within the scope of this funding opportunity) projects designed to advance the goals listed below. Applicants seeking priority consideration should specify in the proposal narrative (and in the budget detail form, if applicable) which of the following goal(s) the project is intended to advance and how it will do so:

Directly supporting law enforcement operations (including immigration law enforcement operations);
Combatting violent crime;
Supporting services to American citizens;
Protecting American children; and
Supporting American victims of trafficking and sexual assault.
