Deadline: 04/30/2026

Grant Duration: 1 Year
Details:
The Creative Chapters Library Program (CCLP) grant supports hands-on, sequential lifelong learning opportunities in Kentucky public libraries by funding residencies with artists from the Kentucky Arts Council Teaching Artists Directory. Librarians and artists work in partnership to design and implement the residencies, which may be focused on a specific artistic discipline or explore educational pairings such as dance integrated into a reading campaign, storytelling integrated into a relevant historical/commemorative event, a painting class that connects to environmental awareness, or a writing residency combined with an author study, and more.
The Creative Chapters Library Program supports Kentucky public libraries in bringing professional teaching artists from the Kentucky Arts Council Teaching Artists Directory for up to 60 hours of instructional time. These residencies provide hands-on, sequential lifelong learning for youth, families, older adults, and other community members, directly involving them in the creative process during an artist’s residency, and integrating the arts into community activities.
Residencies supported by this grant must:
- Employ teaching artists from the Kentucky Arts Council’s Teaching Artist Directory.
- Be open and marketed to the public and dedicated to serving a broad audience.
- Follow all local, state, and federal safety protocols in effect at the time of the residency.
- Be held during times that public schools are not in session (holidays, winter, spring, and summer breaks, after school, weekends, etc.).
- Be accessible to audience members and teaching artists with disabilities. For the purposes of these guidelines, accessibility refers to both the residency program and the facility.
