This mission will help drive positive outcomes for children’s health and help set a stronger foundation for a lifetime of wellness. The Foundation also promotes protective and compensatory childhood experiences which can counteract the effects of ACEs.
Grants are made based on three pillars:
- Empowered families: Working to ensure families have the resources they need to thrive
- Families with secure employment, stable housing, safe communities, and quality education are best positioned to nurture healthy children.
- Healing behaviors: Working to ensure families can meet challenges and build well-being
- Families with consistent access to behavioral health resources are better able to provide safe, stable, and caring environments for children.
- Access to health care: Working to ensure families receive equitable, high-quality health services
- Families and expectant mothers with reliable access to culturally responsive providers, including services in their preferred language, can more readily support healthy development and increase PACEs.
Funding Information
The Foundation expects to make one-year project-specific grants totaling up to $2 million, with awards ranging from $100,000 to $150,000.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, organizations must:
- Be a 501(c)(3) Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-designated nonprofit organization and have received that designation within the last three years, or partner with a fiscal sponsor that is designated.
- Be located in a U.S. state or territory in which AmeriHealth Caritas Medicaid health plans operate:
- Have annual revenue between $300,000 and $10 million for the 2025 fiscal year and projected for the 2026 fiscal year.
- Have a 2024 IRS Form 990 available or partner with a fiscal sponsor that has one.
- Provide programs and support that:
- Are comprehensive, customized, asset-based, and community-led
- Focus on empowering families
- Reach communities disproportionately impacted by health and economic inequities, including those with high Medicaid participation
- Have demonstrated capacity and experience to implement and manage projects successfully.
