The Raul & Hortensia Tijerina Foundation is dedicated to improving quality of life in the south Texas Rio Grande Valley.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Raul & Hortensia Tijerina Foundation provides grants to nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations as indicated by Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Organizations eligible for grant support from the Tijerina Foundation must operate and/or provide programming and services to people living in these south Texas counties
- Cameron County
- Hidalgo County
- Starr County
- Willacy County
- Grant funding is not available for programs or projects outside this four-county geographic area.
Ineligibility Criteria
Grants will not be considered for the following purposes:

- Political or legislative causes
- Debt service
- To establish a foundation, trust or interest-bearing account.
