FAITHS community partners grant program strengthens interfaith and race relations, increases civic and cultural participation, develops leaders, and provides community services to low-income residents and communities of color and programs addressing the needs of their communities during the pandemic, including housing and food insecurity.

Details:

The grantmaking program will support faith-based organizations and congregations to:

  • Build and strengthen the capacity of organizations and leaders to engage in racial and economic equity issues through nonpartisan voter engagement, policy advocacy, and community
  • Provide programs that promote economic security, educational opportunity, and community well-being.
  • Provide programs and activities that address institutional and structural racism, discrimination, and implicit

Priority will be given to applicants that:

  • Serve low-income communities and people of color in one or more of five Bay Area counties (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, and San Mateo).
  • Provide programs for underserved communities (e.g. low-income people of color, systems involved and/or formerly incarcerated residents, low-wage workers, youth, homeless individuals, seniors, and immigrants).
  • Leverage additional in-kind and financial

Funding Information

Applicants can apply for a grant for a one-year grant in the range of $6,000-$8,000 or a two-year grant in the range of $6,000 – $16,000.

Eligibility Criteria

  • They are advancing racial equity and economic inclusion in the Bay Area in a number of ways, such as demonstrating their civic leadership and partnering with policymakers, other funders, donors, and nonprofit organizations. They offer a range of funding opportunities for nonprofits (or fiscally sponsored organizations) in the five Bay Area counties that they serve: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, and San Mateo.
  • All 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations based in the five Bay Area counties they serve can apply.
