The purpose of this RFA is to solicit applications from entities to educate youth in the District on bicycle maintenance, safety, and basic repairs in order to (1) help them become bicycle pioneers in their respective communities, (2) deepen their knowledge and exposure to engineering concepts, and (3) encourage them to seek alternative forms of transportation.
The purpose of this grant is to provide funding for a qualified entity to plan and implement at least 8 bicycle educational clinics to youth in the District’s underserved residential communities located in Wards 5, 6, 7, and 8 and at least 2 of the clinics with DCPS 2nd Grade cycling program. Currently, there are few bicycle shops or organizations providing educational clinics to youth.
