Renew Seed Grants are a great starting point for incubating new innovative businesses or projects within Washington’s circular economy.
The Renew Seed Grants will provide:
- Grants up to $10,000 for Early-Stage Projects
- Early-Stage Technical Support and Growth Planning
- Facilitated Networking and Matchmaking
Eligibility Criteria
- Small businesses, entrepreneurs, universities, non-profits, community-based organizations or tribal governments that have project ideas with the potential to contribute towards zero waste goals, greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions, and equitable outcomes while stimulating the circular economy.
- Cross sector partnerships and existing end markets from out-of-state are eligible to apply as long as their project is focused on Washington and addresses Washington-based material.
- Applicants are encouraged to design projects that benefit overburdened, under-resourced, or under-represented communities.
Team Eligibility
- Projects must be Washington-based or expanding to Washington.
- Eligible applicants must be able to demonstrate that their business or project concept has the potential for direct positive impact on Washington’s circular economy.
- Research projects, feasibility studies, pilot projects and early commercial projects are eligible.
- This program is eligible to private sector businesses, non-profits and community-based organizations, universities and research institutions, trade organizations, tribal governments and organizations, and cross-sector collaborations.
- This program is not intended for local governments. Local governments can be project partners, but not project leads. Reach out to us with questions related to partnership.
