The City of Seaside’s Homeless Commission is seeking proposals from non-profit agencies/organizations operating food insecurity programs in Seaside to submit requests and implementation proposals. The acquired funds will support efforts to feed homeless individuals and families in Seaside.

Details:

The goal of the Homeless Commission is to be of service to its residents and community, to encourage and reinforce safety, access to resources and supports so all members live and thrive in peace and positivity to engage their desired vision for their lives. Food insecurity programs have been integral to supporting the Seaside homeless population in meeting a basic need through the provision of affordable, nutritious, and higher-quality foods.

The Homeless commission is recommending to Council to make up to $12,000 available to non-profit agencies/organizations operating food insecurity programs that feed homeless individuals and families in Seaside

Evaluation Criteria

The selection of local Seaside non-profit agencies/organizations, will be based upon:

  • Description of services (who is being served, when/how often are services available, how do those in need get informed about services, location and access to services).
  • Value and benefit of program to homeless population and City of Seaside.
  • Proof of non-profit status Food Insecurity Program qualifications. (The agency/organization seeking donation funds must serve homeless individuals and families within the Seaside Community. Agencies/organizations must also hold a 501c3 nonprofit status. Documentation of status is required when submitting requests).
  • Accountability (The agency/organization granted donation funds to engage food insecurity program activities must document services and plan to report back to the Homeless Commission within 90 days of receiving funding).
  • Preference will be given to non-profit agencies/organizations who are based within the City of Seaside.
