Teens For Tomorrow Grant for Nonprofit Organizations (Illinois and Iowa)

Teens for Tomorrow grants will provide operational and program support to organizations that improve the lives of Quad Cities residents through services related to Domestic Violence and Abuse Support and Prevention, Homelessness, Immigration Support, and Food Insecurity.

Details:

Teens for Tomorrow (T4T) is a youth philanthropy group made up of high school students from Rock Island County in Illinois and Scott County in Iowa. These young leaders become philanthropists by learning about community needs, fundraising, developing a grant opportunity, evaluating applications, making site visits, and awarding grants. Each year, T4T awards at least $10,000 to nonprofits meeting a variety of needs in the Quad City Area.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations:

  • Are located in and serving residents of Rock Island County, Illinois and/or Scott County, Iowa.
  • Grant applications addresses one of the following issues in their community:
    • Immigration Support: Organizations directly supporting access to basic needs for immigrant families
    • Homelessness: Organizations providing support for individuals who are currently homeless or housing-insecure
    • Domestic Violence and Abuse Support and Prevention: Organizations providing support for individuals who have experienced Domestic Violence and Abuse or organizations that provide prevention services. Potential programs include empowerment and mentoring programs, mental health and healthcare services, shelter, and support for survivors of domestic violence and abuse.
    • Food Insecurity: Organizations providing access to food and/or meals for individuals and families
  • Organizations must comply with their Diversity and Non-Discrimination Policy.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Relevance: The organization/program meets an identified community need and fits strongly into at least one of the four focus areas: Immigration Support, Homelessness, Women’s Rights, Food Insecurity
  • Impact: The request identifies the area of impact and its benefit to the population served
  • Clarity: The request is clear and achievable, with clear and measurable goals identified
  • Excellence: The organization/program demonstrates a history of success as defined by the people and communities they serve
  • Equity: The organization/program advances racial and other forms of equity in the Quad Cities region through its actions and its leadership.
