GCF invests in the expertise of trusted partners to build a more equitable region. One of the many ways they support their partners is by offering competitive grants that align with their donors’ interest areas. Funding in these areas is made available through their Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
Funding Focus
Proposals should explicitly address the following purpose:
- To support supervised activities and programs that are enriching and fun for youth and promote learning during the summer months.
Funding Information
The maximum grant award for the 2022 Summertime Kids cycle is $1,000, however they accept grant requests for lower amounts.
Grant Period
Programs must take place between June 1 and August 31, 2022.
Use of Funds
Funding may be used to support, expand or strengthen existing programs or launch new programs. Projects or events may be held in person or virtually. Funding will not be awarded to religious organizations that require religious activity for participation.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be classified as tax-exempt by the IRS, typically 501(c)(3) status, or be a local church or school.
- Grants will be made to organizations with efforts based in the Greater Cincinnati region which includes the counties of: Hamilton, Butler, Warren and Clermont in Ohio; Boone, Kenton and Campbell in Kentucky; and Dearborn in Indiana.
- Preference will be given to programs that:
- Help reduce summer learning loss/summer slide.
- Introduce kids to new experiences that will be healthful, enriching and/or expand their horizons.
- Challenge kids to learn and grow through local opportunities that may not be otherwise available to them.
- Have lasting impact on youth with the greatest need.
- Serve a diverse location or populations of youth.
- Engage parents or guardians.
- Demonstrate collaboration in the community.
Proposals will be accepted by any organization that meets the criteria and aligns strongly with the purpose of this RFP. - If your organization needs to use a fiscal agent, the fiscal agent must be identified in the application.
- Schools applying for funding should verify that all vendors paid with grant funds are on
their district’s approved vendor list.
