Any veteran entrepreneur can apply for this award. They directly solicit applications through the veteran entrepreneur community and through their university partners.
Eligibility Criteria
- A Veteran entrepreneur in the state of Texas )who has founded a company with demonstrated growth or significant scalability/growth potential
- Exhibits entrepreneurial aspirations and a propensity for leadership and innovation
- Exhibits proven entrepreneurial track record
- Plans to pursue a career in Texas (live in Texas long-term and build their business in Texas)
- Exhibits leadership in community activities
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Award recipients are required to attend the Annual Future Texas Business Legend Award Luncheon on November 2, 2023 in San Antonio where awards are presented
- Award recipients are required to attend the Annual Induction Dinner on November 2, 2023 in San Antonio where TBHF inducts selected Texas Legends into the Hall of Fame. Future Texas Business Legend Award recipients are recognized at this dinner
- Note: Veterans who have previously applied and/or been nominated are eligible to apply again provided they still meet the above requirements.
Please Note the Following
- The TBHF Office may be in contact with you and with Bunker Labs (if applicable) regarding notification and the award process
- If traveling from out of the city where the Luncheon and Dinner will be held, a hotel room may be provided for you on the night of the Induction Dinner. Award recipients will be responsible for their own travel arrangements and expenses
- The award funds are payable to the award recipient
- The cash prize is considered unrestricted and it is up to the recipient how to classify this income on their tax return
- Payment will be awarded at the Future Texas Business Legend Award Luncheon in the fall
- Once you receive your award, all award recipients are eligible to become members of the TBHF Alumni Association
- At any time during the awards process (up to the Annual Scholar and Veteran Award Luncheon when awards and funding are given to award recipients), TBHF reserves the right to revoke a Texas Future Business Legend Award for any reason
- If a designated recipient moves out of Texas during the awards process, plans to move out of Texas soon after being awarded, or cannot make a definitive commitment to stay in Texas, they will be ineligible to receive an award. The mission of the Texas Business Hall of Fame is to fund Texas entrepreneurs who plan to live in Texas and build their businesses in Texas.
