Details:

The WESTAF Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) Artist Fund is a fund designed in partnership with members of WESTAF’s Leaders of Color Network and facilitated by consultant Margie Reese. The fund provides resources to and for BIPOC artists living in the 16 states and jurisdictions in the WESTAF region in order to advance their own artistic practice and goals. The program emphasizes self-determination for BIPOC artists and their communities. WESTAF will invest in the wellbeing and safety of BIPOC artists, cultural practitioners, and collaboratives by providing no-strings-attached funding and support.

Through liberatory grantmaking, WESTAF aspires to be in solidarity with artists by centering their ability to fund the needs that they identify as they impact their artistic practice. When the needs of BIPOC artists are met, they have the clarity and energy to show up in new ways for themselves and their communities. To that end, WESTAF seeks to invest in the wellbeing and safety of BIPOC artists, cultural practitioners, and collaboratives by providing no-strings-attached funding.

The Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF) is dedicated to the creative advancement and preservation of the arts. The organization serves the largest constituent territory of the six U.S. regional arts organizations that includes the state arts agencies, artists, and arts organizations of Alaska, American Samoa, Arizona, California, Colorado, Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), Guam, Hawai’i, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
