City of Boynton Beach: ARPA Small Business Grant Program (Florida)

The ARPA Small Business Assistance Grant Program is intended to provide direct financial assistance to businesses that were negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Details:

The program will provide grants to small businesses in located within Boynton Beach City limits that have been economically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and have not received any previous financial assistance from either the City, Boynton Beach CRA, or Palm Beach County.

The goal of this program is to help small businesses keep their doors open, protect local jobs, support community recovery, and increase the resiliency of local businesses in the community.

Through the Program, the City will provide eligible businesses with a grant to help with operating and business planning costs. Grant eligibility and funding will be based on a year-over-year percentage decrease in gross revenue caused by the pandemic. This Program is only available to businesses that did not receive any previous COVID-19 assistance from either the City of Boynton Beach, Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (BBCRA), or Palm Beach County.

Funding Information

Maximum grant amount per business will be determined by the following eligibility tiers.

ARPA Small Business Assistance Grant – Eligibility Tiers

Tier Percentage Decrease in Gross Revenue Year-Over-Year Max Grant Amount

  • Tier 1 – 25% or more – $20,000
  • Tier 2 – 11-24% – $15,000
  • Tier 3 – 1-10% – $10,000

Grant funds may be used for any of the following:

  • Revenue loss mitigation – Funds may be used to mitigate financial hardship by supporting payroll and benefits costs, costs to retain employees, mortgage, rent, or utilities costs, and other operating costs
  • Facilities – Funds may be used to implement COVID-19 prevention or mitigation tactics, such as physical plant changes to enable social distancing, enhanced cleaning efforts, barriers or partitions, or COVID-19 vaccination, testing, or contact tracing programs
  • Business Planning – Funds may be used to obtain technical assistance, counseling, or other services to assist with business planning needs due to impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eligible Requirements

  • Business must be a for-profit business that has been in operation prior to March 1, 2020.
  • Business must be located within the city limits of the City of Boynton Beach.
  • Business must have between 1 and 25 employees with an annual gross revenue of $5,000,000 or less. Non-profit organizations are not eligible for funding.
  • Business must have experienced a loss in gross revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic and be able to demonstrate this loss with documentation.
  • Businesses has not received any previous COVID-19 assistance from either the City of Boynton Beach, Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (BBCRA), or Palm Beach County.
  • Business must be properly licensed by all necessary levels of government and professional associations or agencies, including City of Boynton Beach Business Tax Receipt (BTRs)
