The purpose of the Iowa Partners for Conservation awards will be to leverage NRCS and partner resources on proposals that address the following strategic goals of the Iowa NRCS Strategic Plan:
- Result in Soil Health engagement in the agronomic community (private sector) with the help of conservation agronomists.
- Conduct on-site (field) practice certifications and follow-up with producers on conservation seeding establishment.
- Conduct inventory and quantify benefits of conservation practices.
Priority will be placed on projects that address Soil Health/Climate Smart Ag, Water Quality and Quantity, Habitat, and Urban Agriculture, and Racial Equity, and will be executed through:
- Providing high quality technical services that help their customers achieve their conservation goals.
- Increasing adoption of conservation in Iowa.
Proposals selected for funding will have funds assigned with respect to the program that is connected to the specific proposal. Awards using Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) funds will result in CRP site investigations, conservation plans, seeding recommendations, conservation practice designs and follow-up certifications. Individual proposals may have one or all of the four programs identified in this NFO included.

Projects may be between two and five years in duration.
