Arts is a great tool for building useful life skills and is a way to connect with others, using imagination, self-expression, and creativity.

Through the Categories they want to see you express yourself and answer the question “What does well-being mean to you?”. This competition, and the “What Young People Want” Initiative are just some of the ways we are giving the floor to young people around the world to express what they want for their well-being, in support of the Global Forum for Adolescents and the 1.8 Campaign.

Quality and relevance to the five domains of adolescent well-being will be crucial for successful entries to the competition and selected masterpieces will be featured at the Global Forum for Adolescents itself, at major events leading up to the Global Forum such as UN General Assembly in New York and throughout the 1.8 Billion Young People for Change campaign.

  • 1st: USD$1000
  • 2nd: USD$500
  • 3rd: USD$250

Terms and Conditions

  • Design: JPG of your drawing/ painting/ graphic design/ illustration
  • Film: A 2-5 minutes video of your short film/spoken word/ poem
  • Music: A 2-3 minute video of your song/ rap
  • Entries are restricted to one person in all creative categories.
  • Total entries will be shortlisted by art for health team in agreement with the PMNCH into finalist who will advance to a potential mentorship stage.
  • The competition will have a winner, first runner up and second runner up in design, music and film categories. These winners will be established by a combination of votes from a panel of judges as well as public votes from social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter likes). Public voting will account for 30% of the final vote, while the judging panel votes will account for 70% of the final vote. The competition winner decision is final. No correspondence about the competition judgement will be entered into with anyone other than the winners.
  • PMNCH will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your entry in the competition or from your enjoyment from any prize you may win.
  • PMNCH reserves the right at any time to cancel, change or replace the competition, including alteration of the prizes, if in its discretion, it considers that the competition cannot be conducted as is set out in these terms and conditions or for any reason beyond its control.
  • Participants of the competition give PMNCH, its partners and organisers of the Global Forum of Adolescents permission to use, free of charge, any received art, photos, videos or contributions linked to the competition, to be used in promotional activities relating to the competition and in relation to the announcement of the winner through all media including radio, television and the internet.
  • At the request of PMNCH, the competition participants have the option to cooperate in promotional activities of the Art for Well-being competition, including publicity regarding the announcements of the winners across all media (radio, television, internet). For cooperating with these promotional activities, no financial compensation shall be expected to be paid.
  • The competition participants are obliged to provide accurate, current and complete information when participating in this competition. PMNCH may request a winner, before presenting the award/prize to provide proof of their identity.
  • Parental consent will need to be granted by a parent or guardian for any underage (under 18 years of age) participants proceeding to the mentorship stage or for the use of their work.
  • The prizes are awarded in their current state. PMNCH will not be responsible for any visible or hidden defects in the prize nor for any damage during handing over of the prize.
  • Prize money transfer will be carried out via established international money transfers only. Should you be unable to receive money through these channels an alternative recipient will need to be provided. PMNCH is only responsible for the transfer of funds to this recipient and will not take any responsibility to any loss or damages to prizes after they have reached their agreed destination.
  • PMNCH is in no way responsible for any problems or defects arising from the use of the website, social media pages, other online platforms and/or downloading any components whatsoever in relation to the competition.
  • Entries must be created wholly by the person submitting the piece. Artificial Intelligence (AI) generated artwork/ videos and similar means of art generation will not be eligible.
  • PMNCH has the right to disqualify participants if they believe that participants are not acting in conformity with general or specific terms and conditions of this competition, or if the participant is otherwise fraudulently accessing the competition or unfairly influencing the course of the competition.
  • PMNCH is entitled to, at its discretion and without notice, change or modify these terms and conditions specific to the promotion for the duration of the promotion and without giving reasons to discontinue, modify or adapt the competition for reasons of its own without any obligation to compensate any damages on behalf of the participant.
  • Any changes or adaptations within the competition will be made public in an appropriate manner.
  • Any person trying to circumvent the entry process by any method, including through the use of multiple names, phone numbers, home addresses will be disqualified along with any other suspected entries.
