The Barbara Stone Foundation has established a new grant application process to consider grant requests from 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations in the Upstate of South Carolina.
The goal of the foundation is to influence positive change through thoughtful and open-minded investment, by building connections between people and organizations, working with organizations to build their capacity and encouraging collaboration. They prioritize grants that serve as a catalyst for program development, and they encourage funding requests for pilot programs.

Grants are typically one year and generally range from $2,500 to $25,000.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to submit a grant application to the Barbara Stone Foundation you must:
- Be a 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations who serve individuals with disabilities
- Submit a grant application in typewritten format, single-spaced and single-sided, not to exceed three pages (not including the required attachments)
- Grant Recipients are strongly encouraged to participate as a Greenville CAN Community Partner, for one year following grant funding, by joining the Coalition Leadership Team or one of Greenville CAN’s Project Teams.
- The Barbara Stone Foundation prioritizes requests from Greenville County; however, they accept requests from the ten counties that comprise the upstate including: Greenville County, Oconee County, Pickens County, Anderson County, Abbeville County, Greenwood County, Laurens County, Union County, Spartanburg County, and Cherokee County.
