The Arts Awards bring together elected officials, business leaders, and community members to celebrate the extraordinary contributions of artists, arts organizations, and the private sector.
Award Categories
- Arts Innovation Award – The Arts Innovation Award recognizes an organization or individual that has implemented nontraditional or inventive approaches to their art form and/or has uniquely engaged audiences in the arts during the past five years.
- Arts Achievement Award – The Arts Achievement Award recognizes outstanding career achievements of an artist in any discipline who has produced works that have made a lasting contribution to their discipline and/or the community. The artist must currently reside in Fairfax County and/or the cities of Fairfax and Falls Church.
- Arts Philanthropy Award – The Arts Philanthropy Award acknowledges private sector support of the arts in Fairfax County and/or the Cities of Fairfax and Falls Church, by honoring an individual, corporation, or foundation that has provided leadership funding, long-term monetary support, or significant investment in the arts.
Eligibility Criteria
Nominated individuals, organizations, corporations, and foundations must reside in or conduct the predominant portion of their professional activity in Fairfax County or the Cities of Fairfax or Falls Church. Past winners are not eligible to win the same award but may be nominated in a different category.
