Mecklenburg County is committed to investing these funds in projects that:

  • Align to the County’s COVID-19 Strategic Recovery Plan and its priorities
  • Support equitable outcomes for most impacted populations
  • Leverage and align with other governmental funding sources
  • Make best use of this one-time infusion of resources
  • Meet a minimum threshold of $250K
  • Have a lasting impact

Funding Information

Award Floor: $250,000

Eligibility Criteria

  • Meet the eligible use of funds for Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds, per US Treasury guidance
  • Meet a public purpose and fall within County authority to fund per NC General Statutes, to be affirmed by Mecklenburg County prior to grant award
  • Identify and directly address a need or negative impact of the COVID-19 public health emergency
  • Serve the residents of Mecklenburg County
  • Support equitable outcomes for most impacted populations
  • Provide performance reporting regarding use of funds and project impact
  • Comply with all provisions of the funding contract, including expenditure tracking and federal subrecipient monitoring
  • Include costs incurred no earlier than March 3, 2021
  • Costs must be incurred or obligated by December 31, 2024 and projects must be completed by December 31, 2026
  • Follow all additions or amendments to guidance established by the United States Treasury Department
  • The contracted provider will be subject to Federal audit requirements
  • Documentation supporting a diversified workforce (EEO Policy)
  • No revenue suspensions
  • No overdue taxes
  • Must have a COVID-19 Policy requiring vaccination or testing
