The San Francisco Behavioral Health Plan offers a full range of specialty Behavioral health services provided by a culturally diverse network of community Behavioral health programs, clinics and private psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists.
Services may include groups, advocacy, outreach, and education to individuals experiencing mental health issues and their families. The Public Purpose is to expand capacity of local community-based organizations to prevent and mitigate harmful health outcomes associated with substance use, and to reduce overdose death disparities through novel and innovative approaches.
The highest scoring Applicant for each Program listed below shall be awarded one (1) Grant. The maximum number of awarded grants for this RFGA shall be three (3) grants.
- Program 1: Substance Use and Overdose Community Presentations ($150,000) Community Presentations can focus on primary, secondary, or tertiary prevention of the possible negative health outcomes associated with substance use and overdose.
- Program 2: Outreach to Targeted Impacted Communities ($150,000) Outreach performed by community members towards individuals within the priority population to raise awareness on the possible negative health outcomes associated with substance use, including overdose prevention
- Program 3: Additional Program Services ($150,000)
Eligibility Criteria
The Applicant must meet the following qualifications:
- To ensure that services are both culturally responsive and culturally appropriate, the vendor employs staff that have lived experience in the African American culture with expertise and ability to address the unique needs of African American residents of San Francisco who are at risk of substance use disorders or fatal overdoses.
- To ensure that services are both culturally responsive and culturally appropriate, the vendor has experience and expertise in serving the unique cultural needs of African American residents in San Francisco who are at risk of substance use disorders or fatal overdoses.
