The City of Maple Valley is accepting applications from Maple Valley agencies and organizations that provide services and events within the community.

Details:

This funding is designated to support community service organizations that are registered as a non-profit corporation. The grant funds are intended to be used to support the poor and/or the infirm, to serve the area of the City of Maple Valley, and to provide services to residents of Maple Valley. Funding is also to support community events which foster economic development in the community.

All applications for 2024 funding will be evaluated in two different categories in a competitive process. The funding is intended for programs that support activities of the community service agencies that provide services for the necessary support of the poor and infirm.

Economic Event Grant

  • To be eligible as an “Economic Event” grant applicant, the EDC will consider events from organizations which are registered as a non-profit corporation, attract participants and spectators from the region, state, and across the U.S., located outside of Maple Valley, bring significant value to the citizens of Maple Valley, and which serve valid municipal purposes (community participation, economic development).

Community Event Grant

  • To be considered a “Community Events” grant applicant, the EDC will consider events from organizations which are registered as a non-profit corporation, attract local participants and spectators, bring significant value to the citizens of Maple Valley, and which serve valid municipal purposes (community participation).

Human Services

  • The Finance Committee will retain responsibility for the Human Services process which includes reviewing submitted applications, determining which agencies will be recommended for grant funding and the amount of funding to be awarded to each recipient from an established amount allocated for this category.
  • To qualify as a “Human services” grant applicant, the organization will need to meet the following criteria: be registered as a non-profit corporation whose defined mission includes the provision of services to the poor and/or the infirm, and serve the city of Maple Valley.

All awarded grant recipients must:

  • Have financial systems in place that would facilitate third party auditing.
  • Sign a contract with the City for the use of the funds.
  • Provide an end-of year report to the City for the use of grant funds.
