Donor Name: Joseph Robert Foundation

State: Selected States

County: All Countries

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline: 10/30/2023

Size of the Grant: $10,000

Grant Duration: 1 year

Details:

The foundation support is exclusively limited to the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S.: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

The Joseph Robert Foundation is interested in awarding grants to non-profit organizations addressing significant issues of interest to the Board. They are especially interested in supporting smaller, local organizations that have fewer resources and more limited objectives. They may also help fund regional or national organizations on a case by case basis, whose programs or projects have an impact on the Mid-Atlantic region. Both general operating and project/program support is available to small organizations, while the support for larger organizations is restricted to project/program support. Large organizations should seek guidance from us prior to applying. They do not support capital projects except in emergency situations.

Grant Types

  • Organizations may apply for general operating (GO) and/or program/project funds, but larger organizations are limited to applying for program/project funding.
  • Individual applicants may only apply for project funds.

Funding Information

Most grant awards to organizations will be under $10,000. First-time grant awards will be limited to $5,000 or less, unless there are compelling or emergency circumstances. Determination of the grant amount will be made based on organizational and/or program/project budgets, scope of proposal, organizational qualifications, and overall application quality. Grants to individuals will be limited to $2,000 or less, with sources of matching and in-kind funds considered.

Grant Period

The normal grant period will be one year, starting from the date the award has been granted.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Organizations
    • 501 (c) 3 public charitable organizations whose purposes, programs or projects fits within the mission of the Joseph Robert Foundation are eligible to apply. Emerging not-for-profit organizations that do not have their 501 (c) 3 designation may apply through a fiscal conduit.
    • Organizations must have been in existence for one full calendar year (January through December) in order to apply.
    • Smaller organizations with budgets under $300,000 will be given priority. Programs within larger organizations with budgets in this range may also be considered, but larger organizations will not be considered for general operating support.
    • Organizations must be located in the Mid-Atlantic region of the U. S.: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
    • Organizations that have been prior recipients of JRF funding may re-apply for future grant periods.
  • Individuals
    • Visual artists
    • Visual artists over the age of 18 whose primary residence is in the mid-Atlantic states and who are not full-time students can apply for a limited number of grants for projects that promote their non-academic professional development. Projects/residencies taking place in the mid-Atlantic region will be given priority.
