The Fund will distribute grants for Arkansas-based organizations that provide critical services to the LGBTQ+ community. National entities with a local presence, established in-state partnerships and strong community relationships will also qualify.
Types of Grants
- Program Grants: These grants will support the program costs for initiatives that directly support services to the Arkansas LGBTQ+ community. Organizations must be headquartered in Arkansas or have a significant basis of operation in Arkansas (for example, an office, staff person or on-the-ground programs.) Grants will typically range from $25,000 to $150,000, although grants outside that range may be considered under exceptional circumstances. This is a one-time grant that may be expended over 1 – 2 years and used for programs, activities or projects that directly support LGBTQ+ Arkansans.
- Impact Grants: These grants are for Arkansas-based grassroots organizations led by and serving LGBTQ+ communities with an annual operating budget of $150,000 or less and must provide services to LGBTQ+ Arkansans as an explicit focus of the organization. These grants will be $25,000 and less. The purpose of this funding is to strengthen and support local organizations led by and serving the LGBTQ+ community. This is a one-time grant for general operating support that may be expended over 1 – 2 years.
Funding Information
These Program Grants are a a one-time grant that may be expended over 1 – 2 years. Funding may be used on program costs that directly support LGBTQ+ Arkansans. (Up to 20% of the value of the grant may be used for program administration costs.) Grants will typically range from $25,000 to $150,000, although other grants may be considered under exceptional circumstances (for example, a major matching grant opportunity or similar; in such cases, please contact program staff to discuss prior to applying). Grants may not be used to support lobbying or partisan political activity.
Eligibility Criteria
- 501(c) (3) organizations, public schools, churches, hospitals and government entities are eligible to apply. Other organizations that do not qualify for tax-exempt status are not eligible.
- Must be a 501(c)(3) public charity, public school, hospital, church or government entity. Applicants may use a fiscal sponsor if needed.
- Organizations must provide legal, health, education, advocacy or other high-demand services/programs for LGBTQ+ Arkansans.
- Organizations must be headquartered in Arkansas or have a significant basis of operation in Arkansas (for example, an office, staff person or on-the-ground programs).
- Must 1) have a mission that directly incorporates work on behalf of LGBTQ+ community or 2) intend to incorporate services for LGBTQ+ individuals into the delivery of the organization’s larger programs and mission.
