UCreate Youth Event Grant Program (North Carolina)

Dated: February 10, 2022

Are you a young person between the age of 12-17 and have an awesome event idea you like to turn into a reality?! The UCreate Youth Event Grant program at the Creedmoor Community Center is an opportunity for you!

Donor Name: City of Creedmoor

State: North Carolina

City: Creedmoor

Type of Grant: Grant

Deadline (mm/dd/yyyy): 03/01/2022

Size of the Grant: $500

Details:

The City of Creedmoor offers 4-6 mini-grants (maximum request $500 per event) totaling $2,000 to help fund a variety of youth-led events focused around, but not limited to, community service, social gatherings, sports, and arts.

Supported by the City of Creedmoor and North Carolina Recreation and Parks Association the UCreate Youth Event Grant provides funding (up to $500 per event) for community youth age 12-17 of Creedmoor and South Granville to host their own public events at the Creedmoor Community Center (CCC) and connect with their fellow peers.

Funds may be used for (examples only)

DJ, band(s), food (prepackaged or catered), event-related equipment rentals or purchases, art supplies, construction materials, event decorations, speaker, vendor, and trainer fees, artist fees, marketing materials, participant giveaways.

Conditions and Considerations

  • Events must be held between April 1st and June 30th, 2022, and take place at the City of Creedmoor Community Center.
  • Events must be free for participants and focus on engaging youth ages 12-17, or a sub-set of youth therein.
  • Event attendees may not be denied participation on the basis of race, ethnicity; religion, or any other classification protected by law. Events must be accessible under the American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Events must reflect the City of Creedmoor or Creedmoor Parks and Recreation’s inclusive mission of encouraging a playful, healthy, and connected community.
  • Events that celebrate the diverse fabric of our community and recognize youth belonging to historically marginalized populations (e.g., Black and Indigenous Youth of Color, LGBTQ+, Latina, and Latino) are encouraged, as are events that aim to serve a broad demographic of community youth. Events of a political or religious nature are not covered under the UCreate Youth Event Grant.
  • Grant funds may be provided upfront or disbursed directly to vendors. Funds must be utilized for the specified purpose, materials, services, and vendors outlined in the approved grant application or otherwise returned to the City.
  • Event insurance and/or security may be required at the discretion of the City of Creedmoor if required associated expenses will be covered by the City of Creedmoor and not assessed against the $500 maximum grant request.
  • Parks and Recreation staff are available to assist with approved events to ensure a safe, supervised, and successful event representative of the applicant’s vision. Applicants, however, are responsible for securing all support volunteers necessary for executing the event beyond those provided by the Department.
  • All events will be classified as formal City of Creedmoor Parks and Recreation events. The City of Creedmoor reserves the right to revise, reject or omit specific event elements for any reason at any time.
