The Yonkers Arts Initiative and Mount Vernon Arts Initiative are designed to help community-based cultural organizations based in each city enhance the cultural programs and services they provide to city residents, while also enhancing and improving the neighborhood(s), facilities, and/or city parks where they occur.

ArtsWestchester’s grants program provides funding opportunities in several categories. Funding may not be available in every category every year. While each category has a different focus, the following criteria are common to all:

- Diversity, Inclusiveness, Equity and Accessibility.

Eligibility Criteria
The project/activity for which you are requesting support must:
- Take place in the City of Mount Vernon or The City of Yonkers and be focused on the residents of Mount Vernon and Yonkers
- Be a project/activity not currently supported by another ArtsWestchester grant opportunity
- Demonstrate 501(c)(3) federal tax exempt status as a private, not for profit organization incorporated in New York State
- Be headquartered in the City of Mount Vernon or the City of Yonkers. Organizations must be based in the city in which the proposed project will take place
- Have a mission statement that clearly delineates the arts or local history/culture as primary, both in focus and in actual operation If a past grant recipient, your organization must be in good standing regarding submission of required reports
- The organization must operate in a way that does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, disability or sexual orientation.
