Grant Period

The project must be completed within six (6) months of signing the grant agreement.

Eligibility Criteria

  • All exterior signage must be visible from the street and must enhance the curb appeal of the property.
  • Only locally owned businesses are eligible to apply. The business must have some form of local ownership. Businesses owned by corporate entities with multiple locations are not eligible to apply. Franchise businesses with local ownership will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • If the business owner is not the property owner, written permission from the property owner to install the desired sign will be required as a supplemental attachment for the application to be considered for funding.
  • Applicants recommended for funding will be notified within two weeks of their application being received.
  • Please include as much information as possible to increase the likelihood the project is selected for funding.
  • Business owners will enter into a grant agreement with One South Euclid. One South Euclid will pay the contractor the amount of the grant award upon satisfactory completion of the project.
  • The project must obtain all City approvals prior to work commencing. This includes approval from the Architectural Review Board (ARB).
  • Satisfactory project completion also includes any necessary building inspections and sign off from the Building Department prior to any grant funds being paid out.
  • City staff will guide the property owner through the approval process once the project has been selected for funding. Please note, the approval process for the project must be initiated with the City within two (2) months of signing the grant agreement.
  • No matching funds are required. However, the One South Euclid Grant Review Committee will consider the ability of the business owner to provide matching funds when making funding decisions. If providing matching funds, please include that on your application.
