The City of Boynton Beach (the City) is an entitlement community, eligible to receive assistance under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) block grant programs. Per federal regulations at 24 CFR, Part 91, the City is preparing a draft Annual Action Plan (AAP) for its FY 2025 CDBG Program funds, and will submit its AAP to HUD by August 15, 2025. This document is a requirement for direct assistance under HUD funding programs.
The City expects to receive approximately $565,000.00 in CDBG funding for FY 2025. Community Proposed Activities to be Funded:
- Planning and Administration up to 20% (Approximately $113,000.00)
- Public Services up to 15% (Approximately $82,500.00)
- Other Eligible Needed Activities 65% (Approximately $367,250.00).
The primary objective of the CDBG Program is to develop viable communities by providing the following, principally to persons of low- and moderate-income:
- Decent housing;
- A suitable living environment; and
- Expanded economic opportunities.
All activities must meet one of the following national objectives for the program:
- Benefit low- and moderate-income persons;
- Prevent or eliminate slums or blight; and/or
- Fulfill community development needs that have a particular urgency because existing conditions pose a serious and immediate threat to the health or welfare of the community.
