This initiative offers one-time grants to grassroots organizations: community groups, faith-based organizations and others providing programs or services that support the following goals during Summer/Fall 2025:
- Goal 1: Provide youth with constructive and engaging activities within their specific community.
- Strategy: Create positive and uplifting spaces and opportunities for youth (12-18) to socialize in ways that are healthy, meaningful and fulfilling to members of their age group. Encourage youth to develop positive relationships with peers in their community.
- Goal 2: Strengthen engagement by building a sense of community in a specific area.
- Strategy: Create positive and uplifting spaces and opportunities for members of a specific community to socialize, get to know one another, build community and share information/resources.
- Goal 3: Increase the sense of safety that residents feel in their community.
- Strategy: Create and facilitate safe spaces for residents to convene to discuss community engagement ideas and propose solutions to challenges experienced in their community.

- Total Available: $22,000
- Individual Fund Limit: $5,000.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to apply for a one-time grant:
- Applicant must be a group or organization. Individuals may not apply
- 501(c)(3) status is NOT required to apply
- However, applicant must identify a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization to serve as their fiscal agent. Note: Awards can only be distributed to registered nonprofit organizations. Awards cannot and will not be distributed to individuals
- Applicant’s annual operating budget cannot exceed $75,000
- Applicant must have an existing relationship with the community in which services will be offered
- Program must align with at least one of the goals identified above
- Program must exclusively serve residents of Dane County, Wisconsin
- Applicant cannot have previously accepted a micro-investment grant for the same program.
