The goal of this approach is to fund projects in Cass County that will have high impact, particularly for Cass County communities most disproportionately impacted by the opioid crisis while building upon local efforts to support community focused and collaborative evidence-informed approaches that prevent and address addiction across the areas of the community, public health, human services, and public safety.

Up to $50,000.

Funding Requirements

Selected applicants will receive funding to complete the following activities:

  • Implement an opioid epidemic response project as defined in application. Reimbursement paid by invoice based on budgeted and actual expenses incurred. Funds must be expended by 12/31/2026
  • Participate in, at minimum, quarterly check-ins with the Chief Strategist and present to the Opioid Settlement Fund Committee at least once during the funding period
  • Complete a yearly Project Summary Report, including updated organization contact information, an account of the use of funds, and a description of outcomes.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants must meet the criteria of this application. The goal of this funding is to facilitate the growth of services provided in Cass County through establishing new or expanding existing programs. Successful applicants will be working to make a sustainable impact through activities that support one or more of the following categories: treatment, prevention and other in the Minnesota Opioids State- Subdivision and Memorandum of Agreement includes a complete list of opioid remediation uses. The intent of these activities is not intended to limit the work of Cass County organizations, the county is held accountable to report on remediation uses within these categories on a yearly basis. The Cass County Opioid Abatement Strategies by Sector Guide provides specific strategies by sectors such as health care, schools, community, and treatment and recovery organizations, etc.
