Details:

The City of Brooklyn values the quality and integrity of the neighborhoods and wants to support residents by offering grant funding to help them invest in, and maintain, their homes.

Funding Information

If deemed eligible, the city will provide up to $7,500 to make exterior repairs and improvements.

Eligible Projects 

Projects available for grant funding:

  • Driveway repair or replacement
  • Roof replacement
  • Window replacement
  • Sidewalk repair or replacement
  • Siding replacement
  • Exterior painting
  • Garage door replacement.

Program Guidelines

  • The property must be the owner’s primary residence.
  • Homeowners must be current on property taxes (this will be verified against county records).
  • Any cost over the grant award amount is the homeowner’s responsibility.
  • Contractors who are performing work must be registered with the city and pull required permits from the building department.
  • If contractor is to be paid instead of homeowner being reimbursed, a W-9 must obtained from vendor/contractor.
  • Only single-family, owner-occupied properties are eligible.
  • One grant application permitted per household
  • Prior year grant recipients are eligible.
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  • Grant funds must first be used to correct outstanding building violations.
  • Projects using grant funds must be completed and all documents submitted to the city no later than October 31, 2025.
