The purpose of the program is to assist non-profit organizations with projects or programs in Gahanna that provide a benefit for the community.
The City of Gahanna has allocated $100,000 for the 2025 Community Grant Program. Proposals that address the following priorities will receive preference in the order in which the priorities are listed:
- Basic human necessities, including but not limited to, the provision of food and/or clothing to those in need.
- Mental health services and/or community counseling to assist people with mental or social health issues.
- General safety, health and welfare, including but not limited to transportation, housing, utilities, etc.
- General improvement of the Gahanna Community.
Funding Information
The 2025 Community Grant Program is operating on a reimbursement basis. Awards are capped at $10,000 per application.
Eligibility Requirements
- To be eligible for funding, applicants must be an IRS registered non-profit organization based in Gahanna, Ohio, and the organization must directly serve the Gahanna Community. Within the designated priorities, a minimum of 51% of the beneficiaries must be contained within the Gahanna Community. The Gahanna Community is defined as within the city limits of Gahanna and/or whose membership is comprised primarily of City of Gahanna residents. Additional consideration will be given to those serving the broader Gahanna-Jefferson School District.
- No match of the Community Grant funds is required; however, organizations will be evaluated on the total percent of overall budget requested. Groups currently receiving funding from the City of Gahanna must submit a new application to request funding for 2025. Funding in previous years does not guarantee funding in the future.
- Funding should be utilized for direct program costs. No more than ten percent (10%) of awarded funding may be used for administrative costs, including but not limited to, staff salaries, benefits, utilities, and/or building space.
- Applicants may be invited for formal appearance and evaluation to discuss the application with the GRC prior to the recommendation for award. This pre-award meeting will take place at City Hall, several weeks after the application closes.
