The goal is to create Cultural and Ethnic Studies materials that support K-12 students in Minnesota from underrepresented communities without a formal writing system that are primarily orally based but not limited to Hmong, Karen, Somali, and Oromo cultures.

An individual or organization is eligible to receive grant funding if they are in good standing with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and MHC. An individual or organization is in good standing with the IRS when they have completed all IRS reporting requirements and can receive tax-deductible charitable contributions.
