For the purposes of this RFA, UWBC will be accepting applications from agencies that have been determined by the Internal Revenue Service to be categorized as organizations for a charitable cause—most commonly referred to as 501(c)(3) organizations.
UWBC is seeking creative, evidence-based, promising practice or replication of successful best practices for programming that will position Broward’s individuals and families to take advantage of new economic opportunities, as well as to support and maintain long-term financial success. Services must be results-oriented with clear measurable goals, tasks, and objectives. Programming must focus on one or more strategies to increase income/wages, build savings and grow assets, as well as help the ALICE population to meet basic household expenses. Proposed programming should be available year-round.
Goals
Based on the community scan, as well as the challenges and needs identified, UWBC seeks to invest in programs that achieve the following goals:
- Individuals and families increase income/wages.
- Individuals and families build savings and grow assets.
- ALICE households meet basic household expenses.
Funding Information
$85,000 – $200,000.
Grant Period
July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant Agency must be non-profit agencies that have been determined by the Internal Revenue Service to be categorized as organizations for a charitable cause—most commonly categorized as 501(c) (3) organizations.
- All services must be provided in Broward County exclusively and only to Broward County residents, regardless of where the agency is based.
